DELEON, JUAN Juan Perales DeLeon, 72, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2002 at a local nursing home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday, September 2 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2621 Bagby with Rev. Lawrence Soler officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rosebud. Rosary will be recited at 7pm Sunday, September 1 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Deacon Lorenzo Garcia officiating. Mr. DeLeon was born March 28, 1930, to Pablo and Porfidia S. DeLeon in Briary, Texas. He married on December 17, 1950. He lived and worked in Austin until moving back to the Waco area upon his retirement as a truck driver from Capital Aggregates, Inc. Mr. DeLeon worked hard all his life to happily provide for his family, always praying that his children would secure the education and life that he was never allowed. He attended church services at both St. Francis Catholic Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, but he considered himself a member of the National Shrine Of Our Lady of San Juan De Valle Church where he made annual pilgrimage trips each year to personally hand carry his tithes. His parents immigrated from Mier Noreiga, Nuevo Leon, Mexico to settle in Falls County around the mid 1890s. He was the youngest of ten children. Mr. DeLeon was preceded in death by his parents Pablo and Porfidia DeLeon of Rosebud and sisters, Lenor Salazar, Georgia DeLeon, and Nickolas DeLeon. Survivors include daughters, Janie D. Herrera and husband, Manuel, Jr., and Elvira D. Salinas and husband, Daniel C., sons, Husbaldo D. DeLeon and wife, Helen, Johnny D. DeLeon and wife, Elaine all of Waco; grandchildren, Francisco D. Salinas, Richard D. Salinas, Kayla D. Salinas, Nickolas Juan Salinas, Shared DeLeon, Terrell W. DeLeon, Xavier DeLeon, Santiago DeLeon, Corinnas DeLeon, Sergio DeLeon, Ricardo DeLeon, Zinarelia DeLeon, Anatasia DeLeon, Jacob French, and Tanner Foster; sisters, Anna Lopez of Weslaco, Mary Herrera of Littlefield, and Angela Salazar of Rosebud; brothers, Rito DeLeon of Rosebud and Thomas DeLeon of Cameron as well as numerous other relatives. Pallbearers will be Francisco D. Salinas, Richard D. Salinas, Terrell W. DeLeon, Jacob French, Cruz Perez, Jr. and Chris Allen Perez.
