Juanita Wammack Burnham September 24, 1919 -February 8, 2015 Juanita Burnham, 95, of Waco passed away Sunday February 8, 2015 at St. Catherine's Center. Burial and a celebration of her life will be held for family and friends Friday, March 13. She will be buried next to her oldest grandson in Wortham Bend at Oak Grove Cemetery. After graduating from Waco High School, Juanita started work for the Chilton Corporation at Retail Merchants Association, one of the pioneers in the credit bureau industry. The ultimate professional woman of her time, she received many awards and was active in many clubs including: Waco Credit Women, Toastmistress, and Altrusa. She transferred to Tucson, Arizona, as assistant manager in 1966 and to Mineral Wells, Texas, as manager in 1968. While living in Arizona, she helped establish the first Toastmistress Club as a charter member in both Tucson and Phoenix. She was a professional business woman when few married women with children had a career. She was also the ultimate grandmother and aunt. "Cissie," as she was called by her nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, was deeply loved and revered by all. Juanita was the first child born to Robert Lee and Sarah Ettie Wammack in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Robert and Sidney; sister, Dorothy; and her grandson, Jeffrey Karl Grusendorf. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Ann Grusendorf of Plano, Texas, and Beverly Gasson of Scottsdale, Arizona; eight nieces and nephews; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Barbara and Beverly are especially grateful to Saint Catherine's Providence and Providence Hospice for the exceptional care and love given. Juanita was very happy and contented for her final years. Heartfelt thanks and a deep gratitude go to the exceptional staff and caregivers who provided her care.
