Juanita Dickerson Millar October 31, 1926-October 16, 2006 Juanita Dickerson Millar, 79, of Waco passed away quietly surrounded by family at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2006 after a short illness. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Chuck Treadwell officiating. Burial will follow at Moore Cemetery in the Chalk Bluff community. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday, October 17, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Juanita was born October 31, 1926 in Sulphur/Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana to Lloyd Thomas Dickerson and Kittye Francis Dickerson. She grew up in the Sulphur Mines area near Sulphur, LA and moved to Seabrook, TX where she met and married Dr. Jerry Thomas Millar in 1943. They moved to the Waco area in 1947 and then to Chalk Bluff in 1960. She was active in the veterinary practice until Jerry retired in 1986. Her husband of 42 years preceded her in death in 1986. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Waco and a member of the Altar Guild. Mrs. Millar was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Daughters of the American Revolution; the East Terrace Board; the Waco Farm and Ranch Club; Volunteer at the Heart of Texas Fair for over 25 years; Meals on Wheels; and an active member of the Axtell and McLennan County PTA. Juanita was an avid Texas historian and had special interests in genealogy, antiques and gardening. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Bill and Kenneth Dickerson. She is survived by her sons, Jerry Thomas Millar of Dallas and Patrick D. Millar and wife, Jana of Waco; daughters, Mary Ann Felton and husband, Scott of Waco, and Margaret Erwin of Waco. Also surviving are her sister, Wynona Casady of Irving and her brothers, Bart Dickerson and wife, Georgia of Nacogdoches and Joe Dickerson and wife, Andrea of League City; grandchildren, Perry Felton, Lindly Felton, Kelly Felton Clark and husband, Andrew, Emily Erwin McCann and husband, Jimmy, John Walter Erwin, Paul Millar and Jane Millar; one great grandson, Preston Clark; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Perry Felton, John Walter Erwin, Paul Millar, Andrew Clark, Jimmy McCann and Charles Conner. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Parker and Jack Burgess.
