JUANITA C. CLEMMIE McCLAIN, 72, of Waco, died Saturday, May 5, 2001 in a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd, Dr. Scott Walker, Dr. Larry Maddox, Rev. Jimmy Dorrell and Rev. Andy McClain officiating. Burial will follow in Whitehall Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. McClain was born February 1, 1929 in Star City, Ark to Homer and Marie Scott Saint. She was educated in Star City Public School, graduating in May 1947. She married E. K. McClain, Jr. on October 30, 1947 at First United Methodist Church in Star City. She has been first and foremost a Mom, then at various times a receptionist in a doctor’s office, a cook in a daycare center and active in church activities, mostly with the youth. Mrs. McClain was a member of First Baptist Church of Waco and Central Texas Ceramics Association. Survivors include her husband E. K. McClain, Jr. of Waco; her daughter Lisa Powell and her husband Mike of Ocean Shores, Wash; her sons: Scott McClain and his wife Judy of Hewitt and Steve McClain and his wife Janet of Woodway; her six grandchildren: Andy, Kacie and Jenny McClain, Mykal, Colton and Sydney Powell; her brother Jessie D. Saint and his wife June of Pine Mountain, Georgia; five sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Cason, Ricky Workman, James Calhoun, Steve Leary, Gary Kattner and Bobby Tucker. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Waco or a charity of one’s choice.
