Judith Ann Sirbasku

July 3, 1938 — July 22, 2021

Judy Ann Sirbasku was born in 1938 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and passed away on July 22, 2021, in Waco, TX, where she resided for over 50 years. Visitation will be at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home at 6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco, Texas, on Wednesday, July 28 from 4 to 7 pm. Additional services and burial in St. Paul, Minnesota are pending. Judy graduated from Harding High School in St. Paul. She met Jim Sirbasku, the love of her life, on a blind date at the age of 16. They were married in 1959 and the union lasted over 50 years until Jim’s passing in 2010. Judy and Jim moved to Waco in 1968 to further Jim’s career. It was here that they raised their children David and Susan. In addition to raising two children, Judy was instrumental in Jim’s success. When Jim and Judy purchased their first Straight Egyptian Arabian mare, Judy discovered a profound passion for the breed. They later purchased land and Rock Creek Arabians was conceived. Judy’s devotion to her beloved horses made her a steward for the breed. Her unwavering affection and allegiance to her horses, spanning more than four decades, produced a multitude of champions that made a global impact on the industry. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ethel Murray; her beloved husband, Jim; and her siblings Margaret Scherer, Ben Murray, Adelaide Duffy, Mary Nelson, Kathleen Minea, and Donald Murray. She is survived by children David Sirbasku and Susan Priest; and her granddaughter, Zoe Sirbasku. She is also survived by her special nephew, Todd Nelson; her special niece, Jill Minea O’Rourke; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Heavenly Hearts caretakers, especially Tammy Johnson, Carolyn Hinton, and Bernae Bynaum and Texas Home Health nurses, Tammy Phillips and Jennifer Rushing. Each of these women showed exceptionally compassionate and tender care to Judy in her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church, Bishop Louis Reicher Catholic School or a charity of your choice. The family invites you to share a message or memory on our “Tribute Wall” at www.WHBfamily.org.
