Judy Holze went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2001 after a brief battle with brain cancer. Her life was filled with the joy of the Lord. Her passion was her family and her gift was to do for others. Her grace, charm and winning personality could instantly brighten anyone’s day and her classic beauty and never tiring energy gave inspiration to all those she touched. A service of Love and Celebration will be held Monday, October 1, 2001 at 4:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Waco, 4901 Cobbs Drive. Visitation will be held in the Chapel, following the service at approximately 5:00 p.m. Judy was born in Waco, April 22, 1948 to Alex and Leta Federwisch of Robinson. She graduated from Robinson High School in 1966. As an active member of St John’s Methodist Church, she was encouraged by her parents to be involved in working with children. She helped in the Kindergarten department with Edith Holze, who she admired greatly and who later would be her mother-in-law. She dated Larry Holze throughout high school and together the Federwisch and Holze families shared many activities through their church membership. Larry and Judy were married June 18, 1966. They were blessed by having three wonderful children that kept them actively involved with kids. Children were a constant source of love and involvement by Judy as she worked at Lake Shore Baptist Kindergarten. She was the Executive secretary for the original Waco Soccer Association where she also was a referee. She received a Lifetime membership in the PTA for her active involvement for more that 18 years and served on the WISD Richfield/Waco High consolidation committee. She was a member of the Junior League of Waco. She worked in the family owned business, Holze Music Co. for several years and also managed the Stanley Kaplan Education center for five years. She has worked as an administrative assistant at the Midway Intermediate School from 1996 until the present, and together she and her husband serve as director of Children’s Ministries at First United Methodist Church. She is survived by Larry, her husband of 35 years, her son Chris - 33 of Waco, daughters Michelle Mrs. Ken Wilson 32 of Dallas, and Tiffany Mrs. Craig Cherry 26 of Waco. Her parents Alex and Leta Federwisch of Robinson, brother and sister-in-law Ric and Heather Federwisch of Waxahachie, two granddaughters Taylor and Madison Wilson and a new granddaughter Mackenzie Cherry expected December 13th. Brother-in-law Ronnie Holze and wife Kay of Crested Butte, Colorado along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and members of a huge family of faith. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Children’s Ministry at First United Methodist Church of Waco.
