Judy Karen Taft

Judy Taft, age 71, passed away February 20, 2024, at her home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Waco Memorial Cemetery in Waco, Texas, with Dr. Randall Perry officiating. There will be a visitation held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 23, 2024, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco, Texas.

Judy, a proud Texan, born and raised in Waco, graduated from University High School in 1971. On September 18, 1971, she married Barry W. Taft, fondly known as "Bear." She worked and retired from Waco ISD (Cedar Ridge Elementary) after 30 years of dedicated service. Judy loved the beach and flamingos, and she was a member of the Chuck Wagon Sam’s RV camping club. Judy enjoyed her time playing cards, dominos, dice, and board games with her friends and family. Her deep love for her family, including 2 kids, 4 grandkids, and 6 great-grandkids, was evident as she cherished every moment and did anything for them.

Judy is survived by her husband, Barry Taft Sr.; her son, Barry Taft Jr.; daughter, Lisa Gray; her four grandchildren, Demarus, Alex, Alexis, & Layleanna; and her six great-grandchildren, Katylana, Giselle, Trinity, Legend, Royal, & Halo.
