Julie Panos Gilbert January 26, 1929 - July 29, 2009 Julie Panos Gilbert of Waco passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Carl Freeto officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Julie was born January 26, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, to George and Jessie Panos. She graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in Brooklyn. She married Joe Gilbert in Syracuse, NY in 1952 and after Joe's discharge from the Air Force, they moved to Waco. Julie was a long time employee of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas and retired in 1991. She was a charter member of Central United Methodist Church in Waco. Julie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Joe; daughters, Linda Storer and husband, Terry; Jo Lynn Davis and husband, Johnny; and son, Kenneth Gilbert and wife, Billie. She is also survived by six grandchildren that she loved so very dearly, Emily Storer, Jonathan Storer, Andrew Gilbert, Michael Gilbert, Courtney Wood and Tyler Davis; and one precious great-granddaughter, Remy Gilbert. Pallbearers are Andrew Gilbert, Jonathan Storer, Michael Gilbert, Johnny Davis, Jr., Walter Gilbert and Bob Waller. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church Children's Day Care Center.
