June Robbins Mabry

MABRY, JUNE ROBBINS June Robbins Mabry, age 75 of Woodway went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, January 26, 2004. Services will be held at 10:30am Thursday, January 29 at Crestview Church of Christ in Waco with Minister Jim Martin and Minister Scott Talley officiating. June was born June 1, 1928 in Seiling, Oklahoma to Cora and Art Robbins. She was reared in Enid, Oklahoma and graduated from Enid High School. She attended Harding College in Searcy, Arkansas. The following year, June attended Phillips University in Enid. June married Harold D. Mabry on June 6, 1948 upon his return from Japan after serving in the army. They moved to Oklahoma City where they reared their two children, Philip and Suzanne. There they spent their lives together and enjoyed many wonderful friendships. They enjoyed teaching, working in the youth area, and being active in church. June was preceded in death by Harold in 1986. She moved to Waco, Texas in 1987 to be near her children and grandchildren in Dallas and Waco. She immediately began volunteering at church, Hillcrest Hospital, Meals on Wheels and attending various Bible Studies. Survivors include daughter, Suzanne McDonald and husband, Terry of Woodway; son, Phil Mabry and Pixie of Dallas; grandchildren, Jackson, Carter, Spencer and Hannah Mabry all of Dallas, Tara, Haley, and Tyler McDonald of Waco; great grandchild, Matteo McDonald of Waco; nephew, David Scoggin of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and countless dear friends. Pallbearers will be Jackson Mabry, Carter Mabry, Spencer Mabry, Tyler McDonald and Johnathan Scoggin. Memorials may be made to Crestview Church of Christ, Community Center or Bible Study Fellowship.
