Kalvart Kay Tidwell, Iii

April 19, 1950 — June 15, 2023

Kalvart Kay “Doc” Tidwell, III passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023. Services will be 9:30 am, Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Pat Cummings officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 19, 2023 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home.


Kalvart was born April 19, 1950, in Waco, Texas, to Kalvart and Virginia Sue Tidwell. He attended Temple High School. After high school, Kalvart joined the Marines and fought in Vietnam. He worked at Southwestern Bell for over 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping in the mountains, and working on his 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Kalvart and Virginia Sue Tidwell.


He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Tidwell; son, Brandon Tidwell and wife Jodi Tidwell; grandson, Logan Tidwell; granddaughter, Madelyn Tidwell; daughter, Bridget Binning and husband Burke Binning; grandchildren, Annee Binning, Caden Binning, Kyle Binning, Kase Binning, and Ainsley Binning; sister, Jan Smith; and beloved Peekapoo, Foxi and cat, Little Missy.


Pallbearers are son, Brandon Tidwell, son-in-law, Burke Binning, friends, David Arnold and David Bearden, Mark Bentley and Samuel Sartor.
