Karen G. Gilbert, 54, passed away December 13, 2016 at Providence Hospice with her family by her side. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Darrick Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church. Karen was born in Waco, Texas on September 02, 1962 to Oscar and Jadie Anderson. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1980 and received her Associates in Applied Science from Sanford Brown College in 1997. She was hard working and a dedicated employee at Piccadilly Cafeteria for 16 years as a Salad Supervisor, Customer Service at Convergys and EMSI for 7 years, Baylor ER in 2009 later becoming ER Registration Supervisor in 2011 until moving to Referral Specialist Supervisor in 2016. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending her bible study, sculpturing fruit and vegetables, fishing, watching the Dallas Cowboys, and bringing joy to everyone she encountered She is preceded in death by her mother; sisters, Jeanette Busby and Della L. Anderson. She is survived by her father of Waco; husband, Kevin Virgil Jackson; daughter, Anya Shea’ Anderson-Gilbert and husband, Corey Chad Jackson of Waco; son, Brandon Keith Darnell Anderson and wife, Pashion Womack of Alton, Illinois; step-daughter, Tasha Dyer-Wright and husband, Keith Wright of Waco; step-son, Russell Lee Dyer, Jr and wife, Jacelyn Johnson of Waco; sisters, Charlotte Gunn of Dallas, Sheryl Huntley-Anderson of Roundrock, and Jacqueline Anderson of Cedar Park; brother Oscar Anderson, Jr. and wife Mary Jackson of Rockwell; eight precious grandchildren, Daijhea Dyer, Jason Wright, Jadon Wright, Jaydon “Sugar Lump” Lang, Zhadyn Jackson, Dylahn Jackson, Cynthia Dyer, and Corey “Bizzy” Jackson Jr; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
