Katharine Mitchell Rehm, 85, of Waco, went home Saturday, July 9, 2016. Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, at First Baptist Church of Waco in the sanctuary, with Dr. Matt Snowden officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 11, in the Garden Room at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Katharine was born November 20, 1930, in Waco, Texas, to Dorothy and Floyd Mitchell, where she also grew up. After graduation from Waco High School in 1948, Katharine graduated from Baylor University in 1952 with a degree in education. While in Waco, Katharine met Jerry Rehm, an instructor in Navigation and Flight Intercept flight training programs at James Connally. They were married in 1958 and celebrated 50 years of marriage together before his death in 2008. After living in England, North Dakota, California, and San Antonio, Texas, the family returned to Waco in 1981. Katharine was a member of First Baptist Church of Waco for decades. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, P.E.O., Baylor Round Table, and was a charter member of Alpha Delta Pi at Baylor University. She loved to paint, studying her family genealogy, and all things British. She loved her family and her family loved her; she will be missed tremendously. Katharine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jerry. Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy Rehm Smith and husband, Robert, of Frisco; son, Paul Mitchell Rehm, of Waco; and grandchildren, Mitchell, Philip, and Katharine Smith, of Frisco. Pallbearers will be Cleveland Witt, Carl Johnson, Jr., William Smith, Gary Gohlke, George Graves, Robert Smith, Mitchell Smith, and Philip Smith.
