Katherine Alma Mitcham

Katherine A. Mitcham, age 90 of Waco, died Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Glen Rose Medical Center Nursing Home in Glen Rose, TX. Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating, assisted by the Rev. Michael Patterson. Entombment will follow in Waco Memorial North. The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 pm, Monday, April 25, 2005 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Mrs. Mitcham was born June 28, 1914 in Riesel, TX. She married C. J. Mitcham, Jr. on September 28, 1932 in Bruceville, TX. and they were married for 56 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1988. She was employed by Sears for 18 years, retiring in 1977. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Schaefer and husband Jim of Wichita Falls, TX. and Peggy Cox and husband Walter of Granbury, TX.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one sister, Ora Mae Hinson and husband Elmer of Waco. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Joey Longley, Mike Johnson, Mike Lee, John Holman, Kevin Cox, Brent Holman, Randy Lee, Josh Boyd and Cason Longley. Mrs. Mitcham was a long-time member of Western Heights Baptist Church and memorials may be made to the Church, 6301 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX. 76710.
