Katherine was born November 15, 1930, in Cameron, Texas, to John and Bertha Sutter. Katherine was educated at Yoe High in Cameron and then went on to nursing school at Providence where she remained for the entirety of her nursing career. After she retired for the second time, she would go on to being a volunteer in the gift shop and intensive care unit at Providence. She enjoyed spending time with her family the most. However, she also enjoyed playing games with “the girls,” gardening, sewing, crocheting, cooking, the Texas Rangers, and traveling. She was spunky, sassy, smart, organized, disciplined, but most of all, beautiful inside and out. In April 1953, she married C.M. (Jack) Cox. They both were members of St. Louis Catholic Church, where she also volunteered.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter-in-law, three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Dickerson of Temple; son, Don Cox of Clifton; two granddaughters, Melissa Beaty and husband, Dale of Springtown, Texas, and Patricia Guerra and her husband, Joseph, of Georgetown, Texas; two great-grandsons, Jordan Henry and Collier Guerra; and one great-great-grandson, Atlas Henry.

Pallbearers are Jim Sutter, Dale Beaty, Joseph Guerra, Collier Guerra, Jordan Henry, and Joseph Scaramucci.

Memorials may be made to Ascension Providence Hospice Care or American Heart Association.
