Alice Katherine Arrowood of Waco passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016. Her memorial service will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14, at Stillwell Memorial Center with Rev. Richard Roland officiating. A private family burial was held at Oakwood Cemetery. Alice was born July 5, 1913 in Belton, Texas, to I.B.Jr.(Isaac Bradford) and Carrye Warren. She moved to Waco as a child and attended schools here and graduated from Waco High School and Baylor University. She taught 1st grade in McLennan County and Waco Public Schools for 32 years. Katherine and Dalton Arrowood were married on April 20, 1935. Dalton preceded her in death in 1975. She was a charter member of Lakewood Christian Church and active in her church's Womens’ Fellowship, McLennan County Retired Teachers’ Association, Hamilton House and the Harrison Senior Center. She loved to play with her many friends. Alice has been a lifelong Christian and a member of Lakewood Christian Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dalton in 1975; and her sister, Marjorie Quinius. She is survived by her grandchildren, Bradley and Alysia Arrowood; daughter-in-law, Ranell Fonte of Keller, TX; nephew, Dr. John Quinius and wife, Melinda Quinius, of Waco; great-nephew and nieces, Blair Quinius, Kate Jones and Meg Robinson; and cousins, Lucile and Louise Brady and Julie Patterson.
