Kathleen Ann Vance

Kathleen (Kathy) Ann Vance, 81, beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, peacefully went to be with our Heavenly Father and her beloved husband, Thomas Vance, January 22, 2024.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2024, in the Chapel at Highland Baptist Church with Pastor John Durham officiating.

Kathy was born on October 6, 1942, in Amarillo, Texas and was adopted by Carl and Audrey Rush who adored and cherished her. She graduated from McAllen High School in McAllen, Texas in 1961, and married Thomas Vance on July 7,1961. They lived in the Rio Grande Valley and had all three of their children in McAllen. As their kids grew and moved, Kathy and Tommy relocated to Waco to be closer to their precious grandchildren. Kathy spent her later years surrounded by her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Kathy was a person who never met a stranger. She spoke to anyone and everyone, making friends wherever she went. Traveling was her passion, and each summer was spent with her family roaming the country from the beach to the mountains. She was always up for the next great adventure and would jump into the car and ask where we were going after. She adored her family & loved every second spent together with them. Her grands & greats were her pride and joy, and she was quick to brag and show them off any chance she could get. She was a unique, one-of-a-kind force to be reckoned with and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

Kathy is survived by her children, Carla Eckert, Lori Williams & husband, Barry, Darren Vance & wife, Samantha; her grandchildren, Shane, Allison, Audrey (and husband, JT), Ryan (and wife, Susannah), Dylan, Mackenzie, Statten, Ledger, & Indy; and great grandchildren, Bradley, Kimber, Carson, Addyson, Scarlett, Ayven and Peter.
