Kathleen Underwood November 22, 1919 - August 29, 2010 Kathleen Underwood, of San Antonio formerly of Waco, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Sunrise Nursing Home. A Memorial Service will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 1, at Seventh and James Baptist Church, preceded by a graveside service at 10:30 a.m., at Waco Memorial Park with the Dr. W.C. Christian officiating. Visitation will be 5:30-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Kathleen was born November 22, 1919, in Aquilla, Texas, to E.P. and Bertha Gregory. She worked at the Baylor Bookstore for 35 years. She had been a member of Seventh and James Baptist Church in Waco since 1946, where she served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, choir member, and Meals-On-Wheels volunteer. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Underwood; parents, E. P. and Bertha Gregory; and a sister, Dorothy Glass. She is survived by two daughters, Kathy Elkins and husband, Jim, of San Antonio, and Karen Underwood of Katy, TX; three grandsons, Peter Elkins and wife, Allyson, of Hamilton, TX, Barry Elkins and wife, Tiffany, of Belton, TX, and Jeff Pitts and wife, Kristin, of Katy; grandchildren, Bradley and Laurel Ann Elkins, Collin and Cade Elkins, and Paige and Kendall Elkins; four brothers, Edward Gregory and wife, Nell, of Hillsboro, TX, Hollis Gregory, of Waxahachie, TX, Jamie Gregory and wife, Joan, of Elm Mott, TX, and Gayle Gregory and wife, Paula, of Grand Prairie, TX; and a sister-in-law, Doris Gillen of San Antonio.
