Kathryn “Lynn” Zachry Reiman
Lynn Reiman, 80, of Lorena died March 4, 2025, peacefully at home after a long illness, surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Waco. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Elk, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, March 10, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with the rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco.
A native of Waco, Lynn was born December 3, 1944, to Wallace and Cora Zachry. Lynn attended Richfield High School and was a graduate of Baylor University (BSEd, and MSEd). She spent her career as an educator in the special education field. Her students were her passion throughout, and she spent much of her time caring for them outside of school hours as well. During her childhood, Lynn was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church, and at Easter, 2023, Lynn converted to Catholicism. During the last stages of her life, the joy on her face showed the love of the Lord when she was in His presence.
On June 7, 1986, she married the love of her life, John Reiman. As the wife of an Air Force officer, she lived and worked many places throughout her married life; she was especially fond of her time in California. Together Lynn and John traveled extensively to places including Rome, Paris, Ireland, and the Holy Land. They were married for 38 years.
She was especially close to her daughter, Marra and together they spent time traveling, shopping, caring for animals, watching and attending sports events- especially the Redskins, Astros, drag racing, and Rafael Nadal- and leaning on each other.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Cora, as well as her two brothers, Barton and his wife Carolyn Zachry and Pat and his wife Sharron Zachry. Throughout her life she had many beloved pets who she loved dearly as well.
Lynn is survived by her husband Lt. Col. Ret, Emil “John” Reiman; her daughter, Marra Lynn McElroy; nephew, Josh and his wife, Ashley Zachry and their 4 boys; niece, Meredith and her husband, Kevin Knight and their two children; Aunt Joyce Schulze; and her beloved pets, Sally and Apache.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ASPCA or an animal rescue.
The family invites you to leave a message or memory at Lynn’s online “Memorial Guestbook” at www.WHBfamily.com.
