Katy was born on May 12, 1988 in Waco. She graduated from Midway High School in 2006. She was a gifted artist and designer. She taught herself to sew as a child and through the years designed purses, clothing, jewelry and bedrooms. Her most recent venture was original paintings. Katy was currently fulfilling her dream of studying graphic design at Texas State Technical College where she had met many people who added joy to her life. Another one of her dreams was to open a family boutique to showcase and sell her creations. Katy was a gifted artist whose creations brought so much joy and are now bringing comfort to family and friends. She had a unique way of truly loving and accepting those around her. Katy will be remembered by family and friends as a beautiful, happy, fun-loving, and gracious young woman who was with us for too short of a time but whose impact will remain in our hearts forever. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Jean Spitzer of McGregor; and maternal great-grandparents, Arthur Lewis Brewer, Velma Lillian Brewer, William Robert Robinson and Lottie Mae Robinson. Left to carry Katy’s memory in their hearts are her parents, Mike and Lisa Spitzer of Waco and her grandparents, Jack Brewer and Bobbie Brewer Pierson and husband, Ed. Katy had a special love and closeness with her siblings, Ashley Spitzer of Austin and Blake Spitzer of Waco. Katy deeply loved and was so loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Her beloved dog, Tanner will miss her sweet hugs and her cats, Jade and Nancy will miss snuggling with Katy. Pallbearers are Josh Huneycutt, Chad Kasting, Taylor Mayers, Brent McFarling, Aaron Scott and Thomas Whitt. The Spitzers would like to thank the entire Swanson family for being such a special part of our lives for so many years and for their unfailing support during this difficult time. The Lord has also blessed us with countless other friends who have surrounded us with their love, compassion and prayers. Your continued prayers will bring us strength and honor Katy’s memory.
