KAY MC CALL Kay Carolyn McCall, 70, of Waco, died Thursday, February 7, 2002 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, February 17th at the First Baptist Church of Memphis, Tenn., at the corner of Poplar and Parkway. Kay was born February 13, 1931 in Memphis, Tenn. to Carroll W. and Margurite Rosselot, her father preceded her in death in 1973. She was a graduate of Memphis Schools and later an honor graduate at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. Throughout her career, Kay was dedicated to the development, quality of life and care of others. She helped to develop the Geriatric Program at the University of Oklahoma – College of Medicine. She served as Director of the Patient/Guest Relations Program at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where she created the Patient/Guest Relations Program with the Rotary House International Medical Hotel, a place for patients and family to stay in a close proximity to the hospital. It is a place where they can receive patient care before, during and after their stay with many activities and support groups. This is such a model program that the Marriott Corp. is trying to implement this same program in many different hospitals throughout the United States. Kay’s greatest achievement was being a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was very active with the GA’s, her Sunday school classes, WMU and many other activities concerning her church. She was most recently a member of First Baptist Woodway. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Memphis. Survivors include her husband, Charles McCall, M.D. of Waco, Texas, mother, Margurite Rosselot of Waco, daughters, Linda Blunt, M.D. of Clairemore, Oklahoma, Kim Gorman of Snyder, Texas, Betsy Gary of Knoxville, Tennessee, Cathy McCall, R.N. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Jennifer Blunt, Trey Gorman, Charlie Gorman, Stephanie Crump, Melissa Crump, Joe Crump, Tod Gary, Michael Gary, and sister, Marilyn Kenyon of Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kay McCall Memorial Fund at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for Patient/Guest Relations, Box 297153, Houston, TX 77297. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9 at First Baptist Church of Woodway, Texas with Rev. Mike Toby and Rev.
