Kay Coffelt Trautschold October 18, 1932 - April 18, 2007 Kay Coffelt Trautschold of Waco, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday, April 23 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Don Scott officiating. Kay graduated from Waco High School in 1950 and S.M.U. in 1954. She began her teaching career in Houston, and then moved to Waco where she taught in the Waco I.S.D. until her retirement. Mrs. Trautschold, as she was known by all her many students, touched their lives by instilling in them a deep love for learning. She was a dedicated teacher who will be greatly missed by all. She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Ralph Coffelt and her mother, Edna Kay Coffelt. She is survived by her son, Ralph Trautschold and wife, Marlene; two granddaughters, Megan Watson and Nicole Cordova Sanchez and husband, Aaron; cousins, Betty and Tom Johnson and their son, J.J, and a very special friend and caregiver, Jonell Warren and her beloved cat “Peni.” In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Waco Public Library or ones favorite charity.
