Kennith Eugene Wilkinson, Sr.

March 28, 1939 — August 22, 2020

Kennith Eugene Wilkinson, Sr., was born on March 28, 1939, and passed away peacefully on August 22, 2020, surrounded by his beloved daughters and granddaughter. Ken was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Herman and Minnie Wilkinson and married his high school sweetheart in 1956. Ken began a career in auto body repair at a young age and came to be highly respected in his field until his retirement. Ken had an enthusiasm for anything that allowed him to be outdoors with his family. Countless hours were spent camping, fishing, and enjoying nature's beauty with his children. Ken was truly a member of a dwindling generation, where men were taught the importance of compassion, honesty, respect, and kindness; the value of hard work, and to impart those characteristics upon their children. Ken is preceded in death by his soulmate and spouse of an unbelievable 63 years, Cora Wilkinson; parents; one brother; one sister; and his beloved four-legged companion, Chia. He is survived by one brother; his son, Kennith Wilkinson, Jr; daughters, Vicki Griffin and Deborah Gilbert; granddaughters, Julie Griffin, Kaci Cobb, and Rebecca Kohler; grandsons, Jacob and Joey Gilbert; and two great grandchildren. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be no memorial service at this time, and may be held at a later date. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the wonderful staff at Wesley Woods Healthcare Center and Trisha at Interim Hospice for their outstanding care of our daddy during his final days. His dignity was maintained, and it was evident that his comfort was their focus. Also, thanks for their strong family support. The family invites you to leave a message or memory on our “Tribute Wall” at www.WHBfamily.com.
