June 25, 1945 — April 10, 2004

MUZZY, KRIS Lois Christine Kris Muzzy, 58, of Waco, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2004, at a Temple hospital. Services will be at 10:30am Tuesday, April 13 at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Disney and Rev. Lester Adams officiating. Graveside services will be 3pm at Liberty Hill Cemetery, in Frankston, Texas. Kris was born to Ed and Ada Belle Howell on June 25, 1945 in Terry County. Most of her childhood was spent in Morton, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Oklahoma City where she raised her children, was a beloved beautician, and earned the degree of Master Instructor of Cosmetology. She retired and moved to the Waco area to be near family in recent years. Kris’ family, especially her children, were the center and passion of her life, but she enjoyed a full life with varied interests that included OU Sooner football, oil painting, canning, cooking, sewing, games and was an avid Star Trek fan. She was also a person who had a heart for others. She demonstrated that by her involvement in a variety of organizations, including Ladies VFW Auxiliary #440 and by assisting with Meals on Wheels, at the Bellmead Civic Center. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church and the Galilean Sunday School Class. Survivors include daughter, Sandy Renee Sowder-Miller and husband Brent of Andrews, Texas; son, Bob Sowder and wife Sue of Waco; stepchildren, Lynna Muzzy and Jerry Muzzy, all of Yukon, OK; grandchildren, Alicia, Malissa, Kasey, Melody, Jacob and Ashley; sister, Maurica Giles and husband Johnny of Murchison; brothers, Calvin Howell and wife Julie of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jimmy Howell and wife Martha of Jacksonville, and Byron Howell and wife Jacque of Tyler, her stepfather, Ed Roy Garrett of Bellmead and numerous nieces and nephews.
