L. N. Nick Anthony

Louis Nicholas Anthony Louis Nicholas “Nick” Anthony, 74, of Waco, passed away at his home Monday, March 10, 2003. Nick was born May 9, 1928 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Anna Anthony, and his sister, Marie. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Suzanne “Sue” Helm Anthony, and their children, David Anthony and wife, Celeste; Steve Anthony and wife, Polly; Dr. Mary Anthony Barling and husband, Kerry; and Matthew Anthony. He is also survived by his brothers Samuel and John and his sister Gloria Krafchek. Nick is also survived by 7 loving grandchildren, Colin, Tyler, Alexandra, Thomas, Rebecca, Brynne, and Stefanie. Nick joined the United States Army in 1946 and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1953, serving during the occupation of Japan and in Panama during the Korean War. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering from Penn State. His career as an engineer and businessman spanned 35 years, with opportunities to travel the world. Nick retired from Celanese Corporation in 1991, where he was Vice President of Ibn Sina, the National Methanol Company in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. He will be remembered by his family for his integrity and as a loving father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to one of the following charities: Waco Habitat for Humanity, P.O.
