Lacy Zanerson Garmon

October 3, 1926 — June 10, 2002

LACY GARMON Lacy Zanerson Garmon, Jr., 75, of Robinson, entered into the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ on the morning of June 10, 2002 peacefully at his home. Services will be 10AM Thursday June 13th at Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church with Rev. Richard Rust officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson Cemetery. A visitation for friends and family will be from 6PM until 8PM Wednesday at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Chapel, 1124 Washington Ave. Lacy was born October 3, 1926 in Dehlia, TX to Mary and Lacy Z. Garmon, Sr. He attended LaVega schools. Entering the Merchant Marines in 1943 where he served for 3 years. Lacy married Marian Hartwick January 25, 1947 in Robinson, TX. He had worked for the Rainbo Bread Co. in Waco for 9 years as a salesman and supervisor. He then began working for Kraft Foods as a salesman and retired after 30 1/2 years in Divisional Management. Lacy was very active serving on the Robinson School Board for 12 years, the Robinson Volunteer Fire Department 37 years where he presided over the annual BBQ for most of those years, First Robinson Water Board. He was a 32-degree Mason in the J.H. Gurley Lodge #337 and the Karem Shrine. He was member of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, which was a very important part of his life. He was active in the building of the new site in 1994. He was a Deacon and President of the Consistory of the church. Lacy was an avid softball fan following, watching and supporting the Midway Little League and Midway High School softball all over the state of Texas as well as several other states. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters; Virginia Garmon and LaVern Garry and a grandson, Joshua Ray Reaves. Survived by his wife of 55 years Marian Garmon of Robinson, daughter Suzzane Reaves and son-in-law Michael of Woodway, 2 granddaughters Ashley Faith Reaves of Houston and Lindsey Rae Reaves of Lubbock.
