Lana LaVerne McDaniels March 23, 1946 - January 9, 2014 Lana LaVerne McDaniels of Riesel passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Senior Care of Hewitt. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Pastor Robert Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at Riesel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 12, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Lana was born March 23, 1946, in Waco, Texas to Everett and Vena Mae Sledge. She worked at Gulf States for over 30 years. She loved spending time with her family, scrapbooking and had an avid love for photography. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vena Mae Estelle Sledge. She is survived by her husband, Stanley E. McDaniels, Riesel, TX; daughter, Katina McDaniels, of Milton, Fla.; sons, Roger Watson and wife, Rhonda, of New Braunfels, TX, Ronnie Watson and wife, Angela, of Hewitt, TX, and Bobby McDaniels and wife, Kelly, of Hewitt, TX; her father, Everett Sledge and wife, Ruth Sledge; grandchildren, Johnathon, Jennifer, Andrew, andJustin Watson, Sierra McDaniels, Sabrina Norman and husband, Tory, Ashley Prather, Justin Hanz, and wife, Layne, Tanner Bankston, Kayla Ramirez and husband, Markus; and sister, Kathy Nelson and husband, Jim. Pallbearers are Andrew Watson, Justin Watson, Johnathon Watson, Steven Nelson, Michael Nelson, and Jamison High. The family wants to thank Scott and White Hospice, all the staff at Senior Care, and especially to Aricela Aguilar, Genie Burch and Pam Collins for their love and care.
