Laura Lee Volz September 5, 1920 - July 27, 2009 Laura Lee Volz of Waco went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, July 27, 2009, at Providence Hospital. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Dr. John Wood and Dr. Randall Perry officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 30, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Laura Lee was born September 5, 1920, in Crockett, Texas, to John Thomas and Jonie Clark. She grew up in Austin, Texas, where she met her husband, Charlie. They both graduated from The University of Texas, and were married in New Orleans on December 24, 1943, prior to his deployment during World War II. They moved to Waco in 1956. Laura Lee was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas and Jonie Clark; and husband, Charles Edward Volz. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Ann Weitzel and husband, Dick, of San Antonio; and Donna Machac and husband, Lawrence, of Ross, TX; son, Charles E. "Chip" Volz, Jr. and wife, Georgie, of Taylor Landing, TX; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Waco.
