Rev. Lee R. Geldmeier passed away Saturday, October 15, 2005 at a local nursing home. Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Riesel Cemetery. Arrangements have been made with Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Lee was born July 18, 1915 in Riesel, McLennan County, TX to Henry Geldmeier and Alma Petrich Geldmeier. Lee earned a BA degree at Baylor Univ.He went on to receive a Masters of Divinity at Perkins School Of Theology Where he was ordained a minister of the United Methodist Church in 1941.. He served as asst. pastor at Haskell Av. Ch., as chaplain at Dallas Downtown YMCA, He served as a pstor of the following churches: Dallas Bone Price's Chapel, Bethany Lone Willow Circuit Malone Methodist, Boerne Methodist, Boerne, Methodist, Austin’s St. Luke's Methodist, Cotulla Methodist; Weimar Methodist, San Saba FUMC, Pres. Ministerial Alliance, Floresville FirstUMC, Eastern Hills UMC, Waxahachie UMC, and Herring Ave UMC. Lee has been a lifelong Methodist. He was a member of Central United Methodist in Waco. He is survived by his wife Gloria Lee Geldmeier, as well as his children Gana Crenshaw, Gina Wilkinson, Robbie Geldmeier, Mark Geldmeier, Laura Geldmeier Mountford, He is survived by 2 brothers and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Alma Geldmeier, Memorial donations may be made to Central United Methodist Children's Building Fund.
