Lee William Anders

April 12, 1944 — January 21, 2023

Lee left this world after a lengthy illness Saturday, January 21, 2023. He met his match with the most recent illness, but over the years, he had survived lung cancer twice, swine flu, COVID-19, and severe pneumonia just to name a few. He said he was on his tenth life!


He was born April 12, 1944, to Wilber and Inez (Mills) Anders in Kansas City, Missouri, and attended high school in Granbury, Texas. He drove a truck most of his life, most recently with Saia Freight and Central Freight.


He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Allen Anders and Kenneth Anders; and brothers-in-law, Michael Janeke and Richard Janeke.


He left behind his wife of 25 years, Jan (Janeke) Anders; brother, Neil Anders; daughters, Debbie Anderson, Tammy Melton and husband, Ernie, and Roberta Jewell and husband, Tony; stepchildren, Shari Weatherly and husband, Richard, Daryl Nutt, and wife, Meaghan, Brian Foote, Rodney Bridger and wife, Terri, and Chris Bridger; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Janeke and wife, Martha; sister-in-law, Ann Janeke; many very close friends; and several nieces and nephews.


A Celebration of Life will take place at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 26, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd., Waco, TX 76710.
