Lena L. Koester December 31, 1913 – May 31, 2006 Lena L. Koester, 92, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at a local nursing home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 2, at 10:00 A.M. at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. Albert Laforet officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, June 1, at 6:00 P.M. with visitation to follow at the funeral home. Lena was born December 31, 1913 in Waco to Vincent and Virginia LaCarter. She married Scooter Koester, June 20, 1946 and worked for J.M. Woods Corporation and retired from Fab-Nit. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, The Women’s Auxillary and a member of the VFW. She was the only survivor left of nine children. Lena was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Kenneth Jank. Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years, Scooter Koester; granddaughters, Melinda Scott and Jennifer Jank; great grandsons, Kenneth Scott and Robert Scott and several other nieces and nephews.
