Lena Ruth Armstrong September 27, 1920 - September 24, 2008 Lena Ruth Armstrong of Waco passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2008. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, at Waco Memorial Park with Chaplain Suzanne Smith officiating. The family would like you to share in honoring her life at a Memorial Service, at 1:00 p.m., September 27, at Wesley Woods Care Center, 1700 Woodgate Drive, Waco/Hewitt. She was born September 27, 1920, in Denison, Texas to James and Josiesphine Rogers and moved to the Waco area at an early age with her parents. She attended Bells Hill Elementary, South Junior and Waco High School. She married the love of her life, Charles H. Armstrong, April 11, 1941. She was employed by Pipkins Drug, self-employed beautician, City of Waco at Kiddieland and for 15 years was manager of Putt- Putt Golf Course. She enjoyed her family and frequent trips to Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elbert "Bud" and Jack Rogers; sisters, Juanita Rogers, Lois Whisnant, Vera Mae King and Kathrine Bell. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Charles H. Armstrong, of Waco; sons, Tommy Armstrong and wife, Judy of Waco; Joe Armstrong and wife, Eileen of Waco; grandchildren, Diana Picazo, Melissa Seaton, Denise Kalina, "JJ" Roland Armstrong, Terry Emmons and Lindy Goss; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Providence Hospice or Wesley Woods Fund for employees.
