OBITUARY FOR LEON HOUSTON MCFARLAND Leon Houston McFarland, 89, of Waco, died Thursday, August 30, 2001 at a local ` hospital. Graveside services at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September l, 2001 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Robert Cavanaugh officiating. Services under the direction of Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 1124 Washington. Mr. McFarland was born June 5, 1912 in Waco, Texas. He was raised in the Bell's Hill area. He graduated from Waco High School and 4C College. He and his wife lived in Robstown, Texas for most of their working lives where he was Vice President of the State National Bank of Robstown. Upon his retirement from banking, they returned to Waco and lived in the Windmill Hill neighborhood until 1999. He was a member of Austin Avenue United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Edith Gifford McFarland, and by his only brother, Robert.
