Leona Lowe

LOWE, LEONA Leona Hamby Lowe, 88 of Rosenthal, died Saturday, February 8, 2003 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2003 at Red Oak Cemetery in Red Oak, Texas with the Rev. Russ Lambert officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2003 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 1124 Washington Avenue. Mrs. Lowe was born November 26, 1914 in Waco. She graduated from Waco High and Texas Women’s University. She worked as a Librarian at Baylor University until the late 1930’s. Mrs. Lowe was a member of Victory Temple Assembly of God and The American Legion Auxiliary. She married Ellis County Lowe November 28, 1937. He preceded her in death April 7, 2000. Survivors include daughters, Sherrill Ann Harlow of Irving, Mickey Sue Westbrook and husband Ron of Bruceville-Eddy; sons, James Lowe and wife Carol of Waco, Michael Douglas Lowe of Rosenthal, and Ellis County Lowe, II of Houston; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
