Leroy Lee Simek July 13, 1931 - December 16, 2015 Leroy Lee Simek of Waco passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 21, at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Rev. John Guzaldo as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 20, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Leroy was born July 13, 1931, in Bell County, Texas, to William and Bertha Simek. He was in the Korean Conflict and then worked at Swift Outdoors until his retirement. After his retirement he stayed active pursuing his hobbies and enjoying life. His greatest joys were family, traveling, wood working, fishing, dancing, playing dominos and his accordions and tending to his rose gardens. Leroy was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and American Legion Post 121. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Bertha Hines and Jeanette Waters; and four brothers, Bill, Alfred, Victor and Marvin Simek. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ora Mae Simek; one daughter, Peggy Pepin and husband, Russell, of Kerrville, Texas; and one son, Quinn Simek of Alvin, Texas; grandchildren, Roger Simek, Rory Simek, Reagen Hines, Rebecca Jones, Matthew Reyes, Thomas Pepin and Regina Pepin; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vlasta Machalicek and Wilma Bane; and other very dear family members.
