Funeral services for Clem Neeley Bratcher of Austin, formerly of Lamesa and Waco, will be held on March 29, 2016 at 11:30 AM at the Waco Memorial Cemetery in Waco, Texas. Clem was born on June 5, 1916, in Quail, Texas to James Edward and Allie Glenn Neeley. She married B.B. Bratcher, Jr. on July 11, 1936; he preceded her in death in 1999. She passed away March 26, 2016 at the age of 99. She is survived by her son Alan and his wife Charlotte of Waxahachie; her son Kent and his wife Lydia of Waco; and her daughter Linda McDaniel of Austin. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Melinda Floyd, Kevin McDaniel, Blake Bratcher, Melanie McDaniel and Larkin Gawrieh and two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Abby Floyd. One sister, Beth High of Conroe and two sisters-in-law, Betty Neeley of San Antonio and Jean Bratcher of Keller and one brother-in-law, Hap Bratcher of Lamesa also survive, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Richard, Moody, Jim Bob, and J.E. Neeley and one sister, Ellen Neeley. Clem considered herself a homemaker and farmer. She was a wonderful mother and a loving grandmother. She enjoyed playing bridge and card games with family and friends, beautiful flowers, reading, hymn singing, and crossword puzzles. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude and love to Kathy Carmon, Clem's long-time caregiver and companion. Genuine appreciation is also given to the caregivers at Barton Hills Assisted Living for their compassionate care over the past two years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Dawson County Senior Citizen Center, 609 North Austin Avenue, Lamesa, Texas 79331; Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Austin, Texas 78759; or a charity of your choice. Following the graveside service, family and friends are invited to gather at Kent and Lydia Bratcher’s home.
