Leta Faye Olsen August 9, 1930 - April 30, 2006 Leta Faye Olsen of Waco, recently of Hewitt, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2006 after a six month battle with cancer. A memorial service will be at 3:00 pm Friday, May 5, at Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church of Waco with Rev. Kay Hawkins officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, May 4, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room. Leta Faye was born August 9, 1930 in Smithville, TX. She lived her childhood in Clifton and graduated from Clifton High School in 1948. After graduating in 1951 from Providence School of Nursing in Waco, she spent most of her career, over 42 years, as a registered nurse at the Waco VA Hospital. She married Niels Olsen, August 9, 1951, her husband of 50 years. She was a member of Cogdell Memorial United Methodist Church, Order of the Easter Star Waco Chapter #7 and a member/group leader of Bible Study Fellowship. Leta Faye was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Rhyne, Clyde Coston Barton and Myrtle Ellen McFadden Barton. Her husband, Niels Edward Olsen, Sr. preceded her in death in December of 2001 and her daughter, Juliana Olsen Moore preceded her in death in December of 1999. She is survived by her son, Niels E. Olsen, Jr. of Waco, daughter, Marianne Olsen Bussell and husband, Mark Bussell of Ft. Worth and son, John Robert Olsen of Robinson. Also surviving is her sister, Lola Grace Thomas of Nederland, grandson, Daniel Lee Olsen Moore, son-in-law, Gary Moore of Axtell, nieces and nephews and several close and very dear friends.
