Leta Faye Reeves Federwisch February 25, 1923 - December 3, 2009 Leta Faye Reeves Federwisch, "Meme", passed from this life to live eternally with our Lord on December 3, 2009. A service celebrating Leta's life, memories and legacy will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 12th, at the First United Methodist Church in Waco. Visitation will follow in the Chapel. Leta Federwisch was affectionately known to her family as Meme. She was born in Tyler, Texas on February 25, 1923. Leta grew up in East Texas and later moved to Waco where she graduated from Waco High School. Following World War II, she met and married her husband of 62 years, Alex Rice Federwisch. They were married on January 18, 1947. Leta and Alex lived in Waco until 1956 when they moved to the Sleepy Hollow farm in Robinson where they raised their family. Alex was a banker and farmer and Leta was a homemaker and Mom. She loved raising and hybridizing iris in her garden, she also loved to make stain glass items, but most of all she loved entertaining her family, friends and church members with food and gatherings at her home. In the eyes of her kids and grandkids Meme was best known for the many fun outings, picnics, Easter Egg Hunts and other adventures at the farm. Leta and Alex are members of the First United Methodist Church in Waco where they have been long term members of the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. Leta was preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Harry Reeves; and her daughter, Judy Holze. She is survived by her husband, Alex Federwisch; her son and daughter-in-law, Ric and Heather Federwisch; her son-in-law, Larry Holze; brothers, Calvin Reeves and Irvin Reeves and sisters, Edna Reeves and Billie Purvis. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris Holze and wife, Christine; Michelle Wilson and husband, Ken; Tiffany Cherry and husband, Craig; Megan Federwisch, Tyler Federwisch, Kyle Klansek and Meagan Klansek; six wonderful great grandchildren; and other family and friends. "We will all miss Meme and her kind and loving spirit. She was always the one to hug and encourage, always the one to care for others and put their needs first, and always the one to nurture and guide her kids and grandkids. We will miss her, but we are comforted knowing you are with our Lord today." In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the church or charity of your choice.
