MCCURRIN, JR., LETCHER LEE “PETE” Letcher Lee “Pete” McCurrin, Jr., age 68, of Waco, died Monday, November 25, 2002 in a local hospital. Private graveside services are planned with a memorial service to be held at a 1:30pm Tuesday, December 17 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 1124 Washington Ave., Waco, Texas. Mr. McCurrin was born January 5, 1934 in Purdon, Texas to Letcher Lee and Ollie Viola Burleson McCurrin, Sr. On August 23, 1954, he married Dora Jo Henderson. He worked for 23 years at J.C. Penney as a men’s wear consultant before he retired. Pete enjoyed his family and friends and wood working. He was preceded in death by his father, Letcher Lee McCurrin, Sr., sister, Betty Lou McCurrin Harville, brother, Bobby Lynn McCurrin, and grandson, Greg Lee Coody. He is survived by his wife, Dora Jo McCurrin; sons, Neil Ray McCurrin, Darryl Wayne McCurrin and Beth Paine, and Roger Dale McCurrin and wife, Raquel; daughter, Lee Ann Radell and husband, Scott; granddaughters, Sarah Michelle McCurrin, Amanda Elyse Coody, Holly Dawn McCurrin and Lauren Renee Radell, brother, Pat McCurrin of Killeen, mother, Ollie McCurrin of Waco, mother-in-law, Allie lee Henderson of Mexia; and a host of Kissin’ Cousins and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Mike McCurrin, Matt McCurrin, Pat D. McCurrin, Brian McCurrin, Brian Clary, Joe David Chappell, Steven Henderson, Charles Edward Wilson, and Ricky Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Dawson High School Football and Baseball Teams of 1953 and the Coffee Drinking Buddies. The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Anderson and staff of Texas Oncology PA and Research Center, staff at Providence Hospital, and wonderful nursing staff at Providence 4-North for their love, care and concern. A special thanks to Thomas Compton, our Daddy’s lifelong friend, who cared for all of us, during this difficult time.
