MARTIN, LILLIAN Lillian Harrell Martin, age 79, of Waco died Thursday, August 16, 2001 at a local nursing home. Services will be 11:30AM Saturday, August 18th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Dr. Dan McGee officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-7:30PM Friday, August 17th at the funeral home. Mrs. Martin was born in Waco February 8, 1922. She was educated in Waco public schools and was a graduate of Waco High School in 1939. She married J.L. Martin February 10, 1943 in Waco; he preceded her in death January 7, 1990. She was a lifetime member of Edgefield Baptist Church and was also a member of WMU. She served as a teacher’s aide at Gurley Elementary School and was very active in PTA. She dedicated her life to her family and participated in all her children’s activities. Her friends and family will always remember her for her hospitality and talents as a seamstress, cook, and cake decorator. She was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. Survivors include: Daughter: Majane Martin and husband, Jim Wiethorn of Sugar Land Son: Clyde D. Martin and wife, Frances of Waco Sisters: Lorraine Swanner of Waco Pat Gates of Waco Brothers: John T. Harrell of Waco James Harrell of Austin Grandchildren: Jenny Martin, John Martin, Elizabeth Wallace and Rebecca Wallace Pallbearers will be John Erwin, John Dagley, John Martin, Bill Brunson, John Harrell, and Luther Brunson. Memorials may be made to American Red Cross, Heart of Texas Chapter. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
