HOWELL, LILLIAN Lillian Howell, 91, passed away in Lancaster, Texas on Thursday, March 30, 2005. Graveside services will be held at 1:30pm, Saturday, April 2, Waco Memorial North. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm, Friday, April 1 at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey funeral home. Mrs. Hobert W. Howell, former Lillian Wible was born December 3, 1913 in Oglesby, Texas to Claude W. and India Collard Wible, who died when she was a small child. She was reared by an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. D.E. Bright, moving to Waco in June of 1924. Mrs. Howell graduated from Waco High School in 1931. She married Hobert W. Howell, December 31, 1937. She was active in Cub Scouts, Camp Fire Girls, a founding parent of Waco Little League Baseball, a volunteer worker in the Women’s Division of the Heart of Texas Fair for 30 years, serving 2 years as superintendent. She had been active in several garden clubs and was a life member of Waco Council Garden Clubs, member of Henry Downs Chapter Daughters of American Revolution and a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by her husband; brother, Bill Wible and daughter, Sue Howell Herring. Survivors include son, Hobie Howell of Cedar Hill, TX; grandsons, Jeff Howell of Escondido, CA, Travis Herring of Conroe, TX; granddaughters, Renae Howell of Dallas, TX, Shelle Herring Honeycutt of Spring, TX, Claudia Herring Babb of Allen, Tx and four great grandchildren.
