MCNAMARA, LINDA GAIL FOLEY Linda Gail Foley McNamara, age 56, passed away July 25, 2003, at a hospital in San Antonio. Services honoring her life and accomplishments will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 28 at Lakewood Christian Church with Pastors, Dr. Jerry Kirkpatrick and Dr. Billie Hanks Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Bosqueville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Linda was the daughter of Mrs. Bill Foley and the late Mr. Norment Foley of Uvalde, Texas, and the daughter-in-law of Mrs. Margaret McNamara and the late T.P. McNamara Sr. She attended Uvalde public schools and went to A&I and Sam Houston to pursue an art degree. At Sam Houston she was honored as “All College Favorite.” In 1968 she attended Baylor University where she met her husband of 32 years. There, she was Taurus Fraternity Sweetheart and Baylor Homecoming Queen of 1969 and graduated in 1971 with a degree in Fine Art. Linda and Parnell married on Aug. 14, 1971, in Uvalde and moved into the McNamara homestead in Bosqueville. She took great pride in renovating the two-story white antebellum house and making it a special home for her family. As a talented and inspiring artist, Linda painted fine realistic portraits, landscapes and scenes of nature, for which she received numerous awards and recognition. Many of her beautiful paintings and drawings now adorn the walls of family and friends’ homes and offices throughout the state. She always enjoyed sharing her gift with others through art classes at the Art Center, decorating for the girls’ parties, or spending times with friends and family on creative projects. The home was always alive with her smile, soft voice, laughter and often humorous pranks. Linda shared her relationship with the Lord by showing her love of nature and the outdoors with the family. She hosted intimate Bible studies with the girls and Parnell by the creek behind the house. She always made sure that each of the pets was present for the talks with God. Her love and compassion for animals is evident through the many of God’s creatures she nurtured at her home in the country. Survivors include her loving husband, Thomas Parnell McNamara; daughters, Marisa Anne McNamara and Rosemary Amanda Hefner; son-in-law Scott A. Hefner; sister, Mary Foley Biesemeier and husband Chip. Pallbearers will be Mike McNamara, Aubrey Stringer, Randy Bland, Scott Hefner, Joe Johnson, Coty Battles, Leon Cheney, Dudley Haas, Richard Haas, Coke Mills and Chip Biesemeier. Linda has a large, supportive and loving extended family who miss her very much. The family would like to thank the caring medical staff at Sid Peterson Hospital of Kerrville, the Methodist Specialty and Transplant Institute, La Hacienda, and clergy for all of the support and compassion shown in this trying time.
