Linda Marleen Howard – Green, 78 years, 5 months, and 6 days old, passed away from this life Monday, June 24, 2024, one month after an emergency surgery.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 28, 2024, in the Chapel at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home in Waco. Interment will follow the service and Linda will be laid to eternal rest next to her loving mother at the Waco Memorial Park Cemetery.
Linda was born January 18, 1946, in Corsicana, Navarro County, Texas, to Jack Donald Howard and Mildred Idora Tapley. She had a sweet and loving spirit that touched many lives. Known to be very shy at first meeting, Linda would warm up to you quickly once she got to know you. She loved to dance, sing, travel and visit on the phone with her cousin Brenda Read – McBride in Moyers, Oklahoma, for several hours at a time. Linda deeply loved her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed. Now, she is wrapped in the arms of angels.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Jack Howard and Mildred Tapley; her brother, Jackie Gene Howard and his wife, Nancy Flanagan; stepdad, Ken Watson; grandparents, William and Nancy Tapley, and Pete Howard and his wife Minnie; also, her ex-husband and friend, Ronnie Green, Sr.
She is survived by her son, Ronnie Lee Green, Jr. and his wife, Yara of Waco, Texas; nephew, David Howard and wife, Susan of Wimberly, Texas; niece, Christie Howard – Sawyer and her husband, Jeff, of Corsicana, Texas; as well as her great nieces, Addie Grace Howard, Branna Sawyer, and Mattie Sawyer.
