Linda Jean Cantrell

Linda Jean Cantrell, 84, passed away August 16, 2024, at Buckner Westminster Place, Longview, Texas.


A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m., September 3, 2024, at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco, Texas. Pastor Brock Sanders will give the eulogy. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park Cemetery, 6623 I-35, Robinson, Texas. There will be a visitation prior to the service, to begin at 9:00 a.m., in the Chapel.


Linda was born in Nashville, Arkansas, August 31, 1939, and attended Nashville High School. She married Airman Thomas “Tommy” Jewell Cantrell December 18, 1963, in Nash, Texas, and embarked on a life as a military wife and mother. They would move to Blytheville, AR, Lages, Azores, Kalispell and Great Falls, MT, Wiesbaden, Germany, Omaha, NE, Corona, CA, and eventually return to Tommy’s home state of Texas, where they retired to enjoy family and friends. Linda was a member of Sanger Avenue Baptist Church for many years. She enjoyed camping, being a mom, Grandmommy and great-Grandmommy, and traveling.


Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Nealie and Stella Hill; and by her husband of more than 34 years in 1998.


Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Ralston and fiancé, Rod Warren, of Gladewater, Texas; her son, Jamie Cantrell and wife, Bettina, of Austin, Texas; and her son, Cooper Cantrell and wife, Tara, of Waco, Texas. Also surviving are the blessings of 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, and her brother, Loyd Hill and wife Sharon of Kilgore, Texas.


Pallbearers will be Jamie Cantrell, Cooper Cantrell, Cullen Cantrell, Spencer Cantrell, Rod Warren, and Michael Boggs.
