Linda Tepe Goates

GOATES, LINDA Linda Tepe Goates, 60, of Gholson died Monday, January 28, 2002. Services will be held at 11:30AM Friday, February 1 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. B.C. Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, January 31 at the funeral home. Linda was born November 19, 1941 in Riesel to Joe and Edna Tepe. She married Danny Goates on November 5, 1960; they were long time residents of the Gholson community. Linda’s first love was her family; she was very involved in her grandchildren’s lives and many activities. She was employed by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and loved being involved in various chamber functions. She was also very involved in McLennan County Junior Livestock Show, and many other community programs. She is preceded in death by her mother, Edna Tepe. Survivors include her husband, Danny Goates of Gholson, sons, Barry Wayne Goates and wife, Ernestine of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Joseph Kevin Goates and wife, Michelle of Gholson, sister, Edna Ann Thompson and husband, Eddie Lee, brother, Joe George Tepe, father, Joe Tepe all of Waco, five grandchildren, Amanda Goates, Christopher Goates, Zachary Goates, Cheston Goates, and Corbin Goates. Pallbearers will be Jeff Thompson, Malcolm Coleman, Maurice Goates, John Scott Davis, Gary Vogel, and Billy Tennison. Memorials may be made to the Linda Goates Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo Bank to benefit the McLennan County Junior Livestock Show. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
