Lindy F. Connally Lyndell F. Lindy Connally died on November 15, 2004 at Marshall Manor Heathcare Center in Marshall, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 18, at Waco Memorial Park Chapel with Rev. David Shuttlesworth and Dr. David A. Massey, Sr. officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 17 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home at 6101 Bosque Blvd. She was born on September 2, 1912 to Lynn R. and Claudia A. Boyles in San Augustine, Texas. She lived in San Augustine until she was nine years old when her father died. She and her mother moved to Marlin and then to Waco shortly thereafter. Lindy graduated from Waco High School in 1930. She then graduated from Four C Business College in Waco. Lindy then began her nursing career and attended Hillcrest Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and graduated with the class of 1934 as a registered nurse. She was a nurse at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital for many years. Also, during the 1930’s and 40’s she did private duty nursing in private homes all over the central Texas area. She also worked for the late Dr. William Roddy. After World War II was over, she married Frank N. Connally on March 3, 1946 in the Spencer Annex at Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. They were married 56 years until his death in 2002. After her retirement from nursing in 1958, Lindy became very active in her church activities. She was then a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church, and when a mission church from Columbus Avenue was being started in Northwest Waco, she and Frank along with several other families became charter members of Lake Shore Baptist Church. She served there many years as nursery coordinator and various other positions. In the late 1960’s she and Frank became members of Park Lake Drive Baptist Church formerly Alice Avenue Baptist Church. She served many years as the church hospitality chairman. Mrs. Connally was preceded in death by both her parents, and her spouse, Mr. Frank N. Connally. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Becky B. and David A. Massey, Sr. of Hallsville, Texas; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruth White of Waco; four grandchildren; Mari Lynn and her husband Jeremy Hensley of Longview, Texas, Michelle Massey, Martha Massey, and David A. Massey, Jr., of Hallsville; a niece, Donna Kay Hatter; a wonderful caregiver, Wanda Robison, of Axtell, who cared for Lindy and Frank for many years; and a host of treasured friends.
