Lloyd Caldwell Mabry, Jr. November 23, 1917 - May 9, 2014 Lloyd Caldwell Mabry, Jr., age 96, of Waco, student and teacher of the Bible passed away peacefully Friday, May 9, 2014, at Providence Hospice Place. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, at Bosqueville Cemetery with Rev. Mitchell Parrish officiating. Lloyd was born November 23, 1917, in Hearne, Texas, to Lloyd, Sr. and Gladys Mabry. He grew up in Henderson, Texas, and then attended and graduated from Centenary College and LSU as a research chemist, where he met his wife. His professional career included management positions with Phillips Petroleum, where he was issued four U.S. patents relating to petroleum hydrocracking catalysts, North American Aviation, Rocketdyne Corp., Boeing International, and retiring as senior subcontract administrator for the Rockwell International Space Shuttle Project. Lloyd has been a lifelong Christian and a Sunday school teacher for 66 years. He was a faithful member of Western Heights Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Mae Mabry; and son, Lloyd Caldwell Mabry, III. He leaves behind a legacy of integrity, high personal standards and unconditional love for his remaining family. He is survived by loving son, John Mabry and wife, Cindy; seven grandchildren, John Mabry, Jr., Melissa and husband, Dr. Ben Almerico, Morgan and husband, Dustin Mason, Alison and husband, Ryan Long, Madison Mabry, Shelley and husband, Shawn Buhner, and Ryan Reynolds; five great grandchildren; and special friend Cleta Bennett. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the excellent care provided by the professional staff at Providence Hospice Place. Memorials may be made to Western Heights Baptist Church.
