Lois Jean Kelly, 89, died November 2, 2020 in Waco, Texas. A family service will be held on September 6, 2021, at 11:30 am at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Jean was born in Shamrock, Texas to Durwood and Violet King. She had one sibling, Bill King, and five step-siblings, Viola Brohlin, Sam Walker, Lena Mae Joseph, Rosie Walker, and Jack Walker. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1947. Jean then began her career in administrative support. She met her husband Kenneth Kelly in Amarillo and they were married on November 16, 1951. His career took them to Los Alamos, New Mexico, Hollywood, Florida, Miami, Florida, Midwest City, Oklahoma and Clearwater, Florida. Jean was a devoted wife and mother. She was a docent at St Petersburg Art Museum, in Christian Women’s club, a member of Hadassah, and a member of her condominium board. She was a lifelong learner, attending Bible College and traveling to Israel several times. Jean also worked part time in real estate in Midwest City. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth Kelly. She is survived by two daughters, Thanne Moore and her husband, Steve Moore, of Portland, Oregon and Jenny Amos and her husband, Richard Amos, of Waco; her grandchildren Madison Moore and Chandi Moore, Maegan MooreHart and Jon MooreHart, Mollie Moore, Kaitlyn Amos, Kally Tejada and Jorge Tejada, Karmer Amos and Karter and Lauren Amos. Her great-grandchildren, Greyson Moore, Kayah Jean and Selah Grace Moore.
