Lois Lavelle Bishop June 27, 1919 May 16, 2015 Lois Lavelle Bishop, formerly of Waco, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Lufkin, Texas. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 21, at Waco Memorial Park, where she will be buried next to her husband, Lt. Col. Leland H. Bishop. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Lois was born June 27, 1919, in Woodville, Texas, to John and Julia Polk. She was a homemaker and was employed at Baylor University for many years, first in the Accounting Department, then as the Secretary for Dr. Daniel Sternberg, Dean of the School of Music. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by one son, Dr. John O. Bishop and wife, Joan, of Houston and Colorado Springs; three grandchildren, Jim Bishop and wife, Katie, of Denver, Kellie Morse and husband, Owen, of Nashville, and Bonnie Bishop of Nashville; and four great-grandsons.
