Lois Patricia Segal

Lois “Pat” Segal passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023. A private family graveside service was held Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Rodef Sholom Cemetery.

Pat was born March 20, 1938, the first day of spring, in New York City, New York, to Malcom and Dorothy Gordon. She thrived as the owner of Maternity Fashions and Baby Boutiques for over 30 years. Her love of interacting with people continued with a second career in cosmetic sales. Upon retirement, you could always count on her answering her landline for a good telephone call catch up session.

An avid mahjong player, Pat and her closest lifelong friends would get together weekly for a competitive game. She worshipped the sun every summer, laying by the pool with friends and family and loved traveling the world. She had numerous fond memories and stories from her many cruises and trips across the globe. She was an incredible cook and baker. Many were privileged to share a bite of her epic brisket, latkes, and Thanksgiving stuffing and pies.

Pat is preceded in death by her husbands, Avery “Ted” Segal, and Jack Silver; her parents, Malcom, and Dorothy Gordon; and her brother, Stewart Gordon.

She is survived by her daughter, Tracie Hermann, son-in-law, Scotty Hermann, and granddaughter, Mabrie Hermann;  son, Brad Segal, daughter-in-law, Meredith Segal, and granddaughter, Zoe Segal.

Pat was loved and adored by many. Her family says, “may the rutabaga be forever in your favor.”

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fuzzy Friends, Planned Parenthood, or the HealthWell Foundation (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Fund).
