Loran Herring June 18, 1911 - September 1, 2008 Loran Herring of Waco passed away Monday, September 1, 2008 at Sterling House. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008 at Rosemound Cemetery. Loran was born June 18, 1911, in Florence, Texas, to Mance and Virgie Herring. Loran was a long-time member of Herring Avenue Methodist Church, a 50-year Mason, and an avid philatelist, but above all he was a cherished husband, father, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys in 1988; his parents; his two brothers, Fred and George Herring, and a sister Faye Baird. He is survived by daughters, Linda Herring of Waco; Lela Holden and husband, Tom, of Boston, Massachusetts; and his son, Fred Herring, of Seattle, Washington. Special thanks are expressed to Sterling House of Waco, Visiting Angels, and Texas Home Health Hospice for their care of Loran. Memorials may be made to the Waco Humane Society.
